Social Projects
OUR MISSION
A significant portion of our revenue flows into our humanitarian projects in Guinea, West Africa. Through our active local support, we promote free access to sports for disadvantaged children and young people. With the help of our loyal community, we have already built three basketball courts and offered new opportunities to a large number of kids. Thanks to the direct family connections of BÖLLE's founders, we are able to stay in constant direct contact and thus implement the projects effectively.

Guinea Outlook

The Guinea Project 3.0

The Guinea Project 4.0

GUINEA PROJECT 4.0
BÖLLE's Guinea Project is now in its fourth phase. Planning and successfully implementing projects in a country like Guinea is always a great challenge. Malik's family relationships play a very important role in this context. In 2021, there was a coup, and the political situation is sometimes a little tense. Since then, a military transitional government has been in power.
Due to the aforementioned, it is extremely important to maintain a good and reliable network of contacts. Only through contacts can smooth operations be ensured. This has allowed BÖLLE to expand its necessary know-how year after year, and we are ready for another mission.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
This year's construction project is being implemented in close cooperation with an orphanage in Guinea. The orphanage is also run by a Swiss national. The Centre rocConakry is located in Coyah, about 2 hours from the capital, and can offer a safe home to up to 35 neglected children in need.
In February, Malik was able to inspect the facility in advance. The construction of a football field had been planned on the large grounds for some time. However, the implementation of construction projects is known to be difficult and it had to be postponed several times. Thanks to valuable experience and important local contacts, BÖLLE will now take over the management of the construction work. To offer the children as much as possible, a basketball court is also being planned.

There are schools and many other needy families and their children in the vicinity of the orphanage. Thanks to the modern facilities of the orphanage, freshly prepared drinking water is already regularly made available to the public. Access to the planned sports facility will also be ensured in this sense. After all, the orphans should be an integral part of the entire community and exchange should be promoted. In this way, we offer many children and young people exactly what they all deserve: moments of carefree joy and the free development into responsible young women and men who will shape the next generation.

As a further step, we want to engage in ongoing and actual cultural exchange. As part of the BÖLLE Summer Camp in August 2024, we will offer three talented Guinean youngsters the opportunity to travel with us to Switzerland. Here they will spend an intensive camp week, learning a lot and teaching us a lot too. Because we are striving to bridge the existing gap between disadvantaged third-world countries and the West. This is our attempt to convey that, fundamentally, we share more similarities than we are set apart by differences. Namely, humanity, team spirit, and empathy.

The focus is on exchange on the field, but also off the field. Our Zurich BÖLLE Kids will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the lives of those who enjoy fewer privileges than we do in Switzerland. True to our motto: “We take nothing for granted.”
On the other hand, the Guinean youngsters will learn important organizational skills, as they will constantly accompany us, even behind the scenes. With regard to our long-term goal of an autonomous academy in Guinea, which is to be implemented by Guineans for Guineans, such skills are of great importance. Social development and integration into the real world are thus given high priority.
